Welcome

Hi there, I'm Chelsea and I'm the acupuncturist at Bud to Bloom Acupuncture Clinic. I studied Acupuncture at the prestigious College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM),Reading, UK. I graduated with a BSc Honours degree and a Licentiate of Acupuncture in 2020. I participate in continual professional development (cpd) courses annually to further develop my knowledge and skill set. All are welcome at the clinic as acupuncture can address a diverse range of health conditions. You can find out more about evidence based acupuncture here. I've answered the main questions you may have about what to expect from acupuncture treatments here. I have a special interest in treating the areas of women's health, including painful, absent or irregular periods, conditions that may affect fertility e.g PCOS, pregnancy and birth preparation and post-partum care and last but by no means least, an area of women's health that is often very neglected, the transition through menopause. Whilst this a special area of interest, I enjoy treating a wide range of conditions and acupuncture has a far reaching capacity to address many acute and chronic conditions. I'm a member of The Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC) which is a UK based self regulatory body for the safe practice of Acupuncture and I'm fully insured to provide acupuncture services to the public. I would be honoured to assist you on your health and wellness journey.

In Radiant Health,

Chelsea

My Acupuncture Story

The first time I ever had an acupuncture treatment I was 21 years old and working as a spa therapist on a 5* cruise ship. I had a difficult time adjusting to 'ship life' and the pressure to retail and hit performance targets created a lot of anxiety - I just wanted to give people lovely treatments. I ended up not really leaving my cabin after work and I felt homesick, anxious, withdrawn and exhausted. There were 2 acupuncturists who were part of the medi-spa team and they offered a group evening acupuncture session with ear seeds to the spa staff. I went along not really expecting much but as soon as I had acupuncture I felt an instant wave of deep relaxation and a deep sense of peace, that I hadn't really experienced ever. There was a very profound shift after that treatment. I had a few more acupuncture sessions after that and I noticed that my anxiety was fading away and that the accompanying digestive complaints subsided along with it. I generally felt much happier and better able to cope with being away from home. I also started to become more sociable with my team members and I was then able to make friends and feel better supported. I was amazed by the fact that a few sessions of acupuncture had had such a positive effect on my emotional and physical well-being that it enabled me to have a much more positive experience working at sea. I told the acupuncturist 'I'm going to do this', she laughed and said 'I'd like to think I had a part to play in that decision' - Of course she did! I will always treasure that encounter with that wonderful acupuncturist because it changed the course of my life and inspired my journey to become an acupuncturist. Now, I'm able to provide the same holistic care with acupuncture and I know from first hand experience and receiving exceptional training to become an acupuncture clinician that the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can be powerfully transformative and promote a better quality of life. As the wise physician Hippocrates said 'Health is the greatest of human blessings'. I've shared my journey into acupuncture and I hope its inspired you to give acupuncture a try. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you in person.
